Marine Accessories Corp. Acquires TurboSwing

The popular TurboSwing towing system for outboard-powered boats has been acquired by Marine Accessories Corp.

Maryville, Tennessee-based Marine Accessories Corporation (MAC) announced Friday that the company has acquired Marine Accessories B.V. Included in the purchase is the patented TurboSwing towing system for outboard boats that facilitates water skiing, wakeboarding and other towed watersports.

For the past three years, MAC has had exclusive manufacturing and distribution rights for TurboSwing product in the United States, Central and South America and the Caribbean. “We’ve enjoyed solid growth with TurboSwing in the United States and in our designated markets,” said Marine Accessories Corporation CEO, Rick Reyenger. “We look forward to leveraging our infrastructure on a global scale to attract additional TurboSwing OEMs and retail customers.”

As part of the deal a newly formed entity named Marine Accessories Europe B.V. (MAE) will assume responsibility for marketing and distributing not only MAC’s TurboSwing and Monster Tower products throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, but associated marine products and future MAC acquisitions. Former Marine Accessories B.V. general manager Jeroen Behrend will serve as the general manager of the newly formed MAE, headquartered in The Netherlands.

“Jeroen and his team have developed an expansive European distribution base through his marine industry contacts and decades of experience,” said Reyenger. “Having a European-based office helps us to better address business and cultural nuances unique to our international markets. This is an advantage we can use to promote MAC products and other marine brands as practical.”

Marine Accessories Corporation is the parent company of Xtreme Tower Products (XTP), Monster Tower, Great Lakes Boat Top and Westland Industries.
