MarineMax Expanding Into Yacht Management

Boat retailer MarineMax announced last week that the Clearwater, Florida-based company, with 55 retail locations across the US, is expanding its service offering to include yacht management, crew placement and the charter of luxury mega yachts.

Announced at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the company’s new yacht management division will operate from the MarineMax Yacht Center in Pompano Beach, Florida. Consultant Bob Saxon is said to have joined MarineMax to work on the new initiative. “Bob Saxon Associates is a natural fit for MarineMax, expanding the breadth of our offerings” said Bill McGill, MarineMax CEO. “With the business acumen of MarineMax propelling it, and Bob Saxon at the helm, MarineMax’s new Mega Yacht affiliate will be seen as an instant worldwide industry leader in this sector.”

A self-proclaimed pioneer in the field of yacht management, Saxon has more than 30 years of experience in the management of private yachts, including crewing, build projects and yacht charters, specializing in the luxury yacht space.
