The World Wakeboard Association has confirmed that the 2016 Nautique Wakeboard World Championships will be held in Toronto, Canada, from August 25 to 28 inclusive. The event will be hosted at the Canadian National Exhibition, on the Toronto waterfront.

The Nautique Wakeboard World Championships is the crowning event in the organization’s professional competitive series. Top wakeboarders and wakeskaters in every division from around the globe will compete at this event, which will determine the 2016 World Champion and Nautique Wake Series Overall Champion.

“We are thrilled to hosting the Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships at the CNE this August,” said Canadian National Exhibition manager, Virginia Ludy. “This is an exhilarating and exciting new addition to our entertainment offering, which also enables us to re-ignite the CNE’s longstanding tradition of presenting events on Toronto’s western waterfront.”

The Canadian National Exhibition – the largest fair in Canada and the fifth largest in North America – is held over 18 days each year, concluding on Canadian Labor Day in early September. Approximately 1.5 million visitors attend the event each year to enjoy a diverse variety of shows and attractions.

“Nautique is excited to bring the highest level of wakeboarding competition to downtown Toronto during the 2016 CNE,” said Nautique president, Greg Meloon. “This world-class venue provides the perfect setting for our Nautique WWA World Championships and spectators will have the opportunity to experience wakeboarding at its best!”
